Asalamu Aliakum Sister I have a lot of questions about our religion I am planning on studying as much as I can so I can fully understand Islam. Can you please give me advise on what to do.
JZK Allah.
Asalam alykum
My advice is sister start with learning Arabic. That is the key to understanding Quran and Sunnah they way it was conveyed and told with out any alterations or editions.
Two join a trusted Islamic institute and learn your Islam from scholars not from people that have the enthusiasim to talk about Islam but in reality have no “real” knowlege.
Three: keep good relations with sisters that have knowlege, and try thier best to implement them, even if you may dislike certain attitudes in them. Take what is good and leave what is bad, inshaa Allah you will at least gain the knowlege and gain working hard on implementing them.
Four: stay away from friends that waste your time even if it were in halal things. Use your time wisely.
These are my fast advices, and Allah knows best

I have major depression and take fluoxetine, which is an anti-depressant. It comes in capsule and tab form. I know the capsule contains gelitine, but I cannot afford the tablets. Is it haram for me to take this medication because it may or may not be derived from pork. I am very concerned, as I fell better on the medication, but I can no longer afford the price of the tablets. I tried looking it up online to see if it was haram or halal and I didn’t find anything. Thank you for your help. Jazak Allah kol Khair

May Allah Almighty reward you for being keen on taking what is halal.
As for your question, if you do not have an alternative or if you cannot afford it. Allah Almighty does not ask you to do more than what you can handle. And due to the neccessity for this medication. You may take what you are in need for, and alway keep searching for a halal alternative.
Assalaum Alykum Sister, What is the Sunni view on Mu’tah marriage. I know it’s haram now but this shia guy was saying how according to sunni’s it used to be halal. I tried my research but I come up with only Shia sites saying this.
